Genesis theme is one of the most popular themes available for the WordPress website. Genesis theme is fast and comes with many features. However, it does not come with all the feature that average webmaster would need to run a Website powered by Genesis Framework. Here I am going to list down the minimum and must have Genesis plugins to run a website.
1. Genesis Simple Edits
This plugin lets you edit the three most commonly modified areas in any Genesis theme: the post-info (byline), the post-meta, and the footer area.
2. Easy Genesis
Easily make many customizations and setting changes to your Genesis powered site, without having to write custom code.
3. Genesis eNews Extended
Creates a new widget to easily add mailing lists integration to a Genesis website. Works with FeedBurner, MailChimp, AWeber, FeedBlitz and more.
4. Simple Social Icons
Simple Social Icons is an easy to use, customizable way to display icons that link visitors to your various social profiles. With it, you can easily choose which profiles to link to, customise the colour and size of your icons, as well as align them to the left, centre, or right, all from the widget form.
5. Genesis Responsive Slider
This plugin allows you to create a simple responsive slider that displays the featured image, along with the title and excerpt from each post.
6. Genesis Simple Sidebars
This plugin allows you to create multiple, dynamic widget areas, and assign those widget areas to sidebar locations within the Genesis Framework on a per post, per page, or per tag/category archive basis.
7. Genesis Simple Share
Genesis Simple Share is created to be simple and easy to use within your Genesis child theme. We have tried to focus on making default options and initial setup a breeze.
Did I cover all the essential Genesis plugins for the running of a website? Would you like to add any other plugin?
